Men Deserve to Heal Too, is an innovative program dedicated to enhancing the mental well-being of men of color in Connecticut. 

Inside the Program

Through a series of monthly workshops, we aim to address specific topics that are of utmost importance to the mental health of men of color. These workshops are led by experts in the field, ensuring that participants receive top-notch education and support. 

Topics Include but not limited to:

1. Understanding and managing stress:

Our workshops delve into the unique stressors that men of color may encounter, equipping them with practical strategies for effective stress management.


2. Cultivating resilience:

We explore various methods to build resilience and develop coping mechanisms that empower men to navigate challenges and adversity with confidence.


3. Breaking the stigma:

By addressing cultural and societal barriers, we aim to foster open discussions about mental health and dismantle the stigma that may hinder men of color from seeking help.


4. Healing from trauma:

Our program provides a safe space for men to share their personal stories and guides them through the healing process, enabling them to overcome past traumas.

5. Building healthy relationships:

We examine the impact of relationships on mental health and provide participants with tools to foster healthy connections and effective communication.

6. Self-care and self-compassion:

Our workshops teach men practical steps for self-care, including meditation techniques and stress relievers that can be easily practiced at home.

7. Navigating identity and masculinity:

We explore the intersection of race, gender, and mental health, shedding light on how societal expectations of masculinity can influence mental well-being.

These topics are specifically tailored to address the unique needs and challenges faced by men of color in Connecticut, promoting their mental well-being and equipping them with the necessary tools for healing and personal growth. In addition to the workshops, we provide practical guidance on meditation and stress relief techniques that can be easily incorporated into participants' daily lives.

By arming men with these tools, we believe they will be better equipped to navigate the challenges they encounter. Furthermore, we recognize the significance of creating a safe and supportive environment for men to share their personal stories and heal from past traumas.

Our program fosters a sense of community and understanding, allowing participants to connect with others who have had similar experiences. To ensure full engagement in the workshops, we provide lunch or dinner at each session. We firmly believe that nourishing both the mind and body is crucial for holistic healing.


All of our workshops and men's meetups are offered free of charge to participants, as we firmly believe that mental health support should be accessible to all. We are proud to host these events at the Unashamed Training Center in Middletown, CT, a welcoming and inclusive space.
