MIDDLETOWN — A former foster child has launched a community book bag and personal items drive in an effort to make kids’ transitions from home to foster families a little bit easier.
The goal is to collect 200 book bags, along with personal hygiene products such as soap, toothpaste, deodorant, mouthwash, toothbrushes, socks, feminine products, shampoo and conditioner, to fill them with, Sana Latrease Cotten said.
She experienced the childhood pain, fear and loneliness harbored by enforced separation. Cotten, wife of Joshua Cotten, church youth director, and daughter-in-law to the Rev. W. Vance Cotten and co-pastor Rev. Kim L. Cotten.
